Watch fury

There are many reasons why renowned American writer of novels are often "unfilmable" as. Although they definitely experimental and the brain are the most difficult part of adapting to Faulkner's novel the stream-of-consciousness Watch fury writing style capture it often. To develop many of the novels of Faulkner written in the first person perspective, precisely written thoughts of the narrator, as they are designed. Author makes records as their narrator spirit jumps to something else, and we left the reader to interpret his ideas. Sound and the Fury followed over a period of thirty years the fall of the once aristocratic Compson family.

The film is in three chapters (four novel), which follows each chapter contains a single character. It opens Benjy Compson (Franco), the youngest Compson boys who are shunned because of unrecognizable intellectual disability. With dentures, constant salivation and a seemingly endless moaning, it is difficult to Franco-performance tragic figure seriously. The second chapter of Quentin Compson (Jacob Loeb) on the day he wants to end his life. This chapter is perhaps the most three reduced, the cutting of the novel, the only one touching moment, and left the audience feeling sympathy for Quentin. The third chapter looks tirades Jason Compson (Scott Haze), a despicable man who wants nothing more than to bring misery to his family. There are really only two compliments that can be done, James Franco, when it comes to sound and the Fury. First of all, the film is surprisingly true to the new plot and tone.

The second is the fact that there is a significant improvement last attempt Franco Faulkner. In addition, even if I do not have much to say to find that it is a positive film. Faulkner's classic is hard to read, to say the least, so I think that at least matched him Franco there, because Sound and the Fury is often almost unwatchable film. Between the claustrophobic close-ups and ridiculously over-the-top services, it is difficult to imagine how the Franco never thought of this change was a good idea. However, he is trying to capture the poetics of Faulkner's prose, and if it had to bite the bullet, we are with the final product, unpolished and complacent feels abandoned. In his novel, Faulkner was able to seamlessly of thought and action, even if always capturing the realism. Franco tries to emulate this falls flat, and the next thing we have to poetic writing is disgusting repetitive voiceover that "Caddy smells like trees."

In the second act, it almost looks like Sound and the Fury to find it as well. It seems at first that it actually be something of the fineness of the performance of Jacob Loeb as Quentin. But believe me, this is only distract from the work. It can be said that Faulkner unfilmable, but all work unfilmable if it is established to the talentless director. In this case, the error movie questions exclusively to Franco, and no difficulty in Faulkner's writing are. Hopefully, the two failed trips, the actor Faulkner masterful job learning to walk alone. Although, knowing him, I would not be surprised to see him try his hand again an adaptation of the author's works be.
